NTA removed the upper age limit for JEE Main from 2017 onwards. However, individual institutions (NITs, IIITs) may impose their own age restrictions. Always check the specific college's admission requirements.

Each year, JEE Main is held in multiple sessions (usually January and April). A candidate can appear in both sessions each year. Across all years, a candidate can appear for a maximum of 3 consecutive years - only in the year of passing Class 12 and the next two years.

For B.E./B.Tech: Physics, Mathematics, and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject, or any other subject. For B.Arch: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry. For B.Planning: Mathematics. A minimum of 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ST) in Class 12 is required for NIT admission.

JEE Main is the qualifying exam for NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, and also the gateway to JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is the entrance exam for IITs and is accessible only to those who qualify JEE Main and rank among the top 2.5 lakh candidates.

JEE Advanced can be attempted a maximum of two times in consecutive years.
